1. Grab the AA1 drivers
- Intel Driver - here
- Atheros Driver - here
- SDcard driver - here
2. gtar xvfj the files
3. pkgadd -d SUNWatheros
4. update_drv -a -i '"pci168c,1c"' ath
5. cd atom-binaries/32
6. cp i915, agpgart and agptarget into /kernel/drv
7. cp drm and agpmaster into /kernel/misc
8. update_drv -a -i '"pci8086,27a6"' i915
9. update_drv -a -i '"pci8086,27ac"' agptarget
10. Create the xorg.conf from my other blog in /etc/xorg.conf
11. add the audio into the system update_drv -a -i '"pci8086,27d8"' audiohd
12. Remove the sdcard driver from the install it's broken, pkgrm SUNWsdcard, add the new one into system pkgadd -d . SUNWsdcard
13. turn on power management, chamge /etc/power.conf to look like this:
device-dependency-property removable-media /dev/fb
autopm default
autoS3 default
cpu-threshold 1s
S3-support enable
cpupm enable
# Auto-Shutdown Idle(min) Start/Finish(hh:mm) Behavior
autoshutdown 30 9:00 9:00 noshutdown
14. shutdown the cde if running SXDE svcadm disable cde-login
15. start up gnome desktop if on SXDE and reboot
16. svcadm enable gdm: init 6

Hi,
Thanks, SXCE B107 has all the drivers and /etc/driver_aliases fixes and works first time after install, you still need to modify /etc/power.conf to turn on suspend / resume support.
You also need to set you preferences in gnome power manager to suspend on lid close.
I'm assuming that by the time we release the next version of Indiana (2009.05) I think the base build will be above B107, it's at B101a currently.
I don't use the IPS system on my machines, I just like to challenge of building the packages, so I don't install Indiana accept on my Asus Eee PC that only has an 8Gb SSD and Indiana does install in about 2.5Gb, SXCE is about 8Gb.

Thanks for the series of excellent reports.
Just wonder: Have you had a chance to install os0905_106b into a USB stick? If you already have a CD, the installation process should be pretty much hands-free. I am sure you are aware of this.
Also, installing into a USB stick sort of circumvents the inability to do multiple boot b/t various OpenSolaris versions.
I am interested in knowing whether--and if so, to what extent--there will be noticeable difference in performances between running an external USB stick and from the built-in HD.

Hi Wayne,
I have not tested os0905_106b, I've been working on SXDE.
If I can find the location to download I'll test.
I'm pretty sure USB will be slower than HD, also you may have a problem with the USB burning out from the writes to it for swap.
I still cannot get a good answer from anyone in the memory business about what the real lifetime of a memory device is.

So I have os0906_106b, I'll test it tomorrow.
I'll test the AA1 from USB, and use the ISO in VirtualBox.
Actually I think I'll reinstall my AA1 with the ISO, clean install

I was able to install os0906_106b into a 16 GB USB stick on an HP notebook. Everything seems to be working all right. But I am interested in knowing how it does, a la USB stick, on a netbook.

You can download SXCE B108 or 0906.B108 they both have all the drivers for the Acer One

Acer is in the top 5, and I thought about that when writing the statement, what I am really talking about is known to consumers, and I was thinking about those people who generally go to buy a computer at a physical store/aren’t too involved in technology. Also I’m talking more about the US where people recognize Sony, HP, Dell, and others before Acer. I might edit the statement in my review if I have a chance so it better reflects that.
