blogs.sun.com is up Hurray for John Hoffmann and William Snow !
Will Snow was very quick to provide us an external facing blogs.sun.com server for Sun webloggers who wish to keep an external weblog and don't have the time or taste to maintain their own server :-) John Hoffmann has setup this Roller instance for us.
Trying to modify this post from NetNewsWire Pro's Weblog editor. This editor uses the MetaWeblog API.
Yipee !! It works fine.
The configuration for a MetaWeblog API client to post to this Roller instance is, if your userid on this Roller system is yourid: Home url: http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/yourid/Weblog rpc url: http://blogs.sun.com/roller/xmlrpc Blogid: yourid
There are many MetaWeblog API clients out there. Henry Story added support for the MetaWeblog API in Bloged today. I haven't tried it out yet.
Support for the API is not perfect yet, for example I was not able to get the categories of my weblog in the client, but that is a good usable first pass.
