In a giant boost for the OpenSolaris Printing Community, HP confirms plan to attack Sun via Solaris. Good for them. $25 billion merger success-story HP is increasing / promoting its support for Solaris on their x86 products, in an attempt to sell more hardware. Dell and IBM have made similar(ish in the case of Dell) moves over the last year.
It's also worth noting that HP CEO Mark Hurd seems to expect to sell more AMD Opterons over Intel chips in the future, too. Coincidence?
