Well we are digging leeks up on a weekly basis now. As usual some are a bit small so I use them in soups. The larger ones are reserved where you see the leek in the meal and you want to see it. The only problem with them is avoiding bringing home the mud you get with them when you dig them up. I top and tail them before I take them back to the house. These ones were frozen solid when I dug them up but they don't mind that a bit. It also will not be long before next years leek seeds are set - usually February. I have about eight rows of leeks to eat which should last us well into spring. ( Dec 06 2005, 12:00:01 AM PST ) Permalink Comments [0] |
