I had a cdrom with family pictures on it. I had created it to take the pictures to a shop for printing. I did not want those pictures getting into the wrong hands. So I decided to snap it in half. I bent the cdrom in half and after a while the tortured plastic broke into two main sections (result) and loads of shards of plastic and silver material ( wrong result). As both of us walk around the house barefoot we will have to be careful in the kitchen for a while even though the hoover has sucked up most of the debris. Any better solutions ? ( Jan 13 2006, 12:00:02 AM PST ) Permalink Comments [11]Jamiesons Restaurant - what happened ? Soon after we moved to Twyford we found Jamiesons Restaurant. This was in the village of Binfield just outside Bracknell. The restaurant was in a barn type building at the back of the main house and downstairs had a nice bar with a few tables, the majority being upstairs. We had some great meals there. The food was always good and the service excellent. One day we tried to book in and there was an answerphone saying they were closed but would soon be re-opening. They never did. At that time I drove past the restaurant on the way to work and after a while the sign for the restaurant was taken down. I did a google search the other day and saw that a planning application has been lodged to tear down the barn and replace it with a house. I would love to know if the folks who ran Jamiesons have started up elsewhere. ( Jan 13 2006, 12:00:01 AM PST ) Permalink Comments [2] |
