Audi win Le Mans in a Diesel..

Italy's Emanuele Pirro took the chequered flag as he Germany's Frank Biela and Marco Werner made Le Mans history winning in a diesel car for the first time in the LMP1 category. The Audi R10 is an amazing car being both fuel efficiant (completing a record number of laps) and faster than its rivals. Here are the first top six final positions.

1 8 Audi Sport Team Joest LMP1 PIRRO E. 380
2 17 Pescarolo Sport LMP1 LOEB S. 376 4 Laps
3 7 Audi Sport Team Joest LMP1 McNISH A. 367 13 Laps
4 64 Corvette Racing LMGT1 GAVIN O. 355 25 Laps
5 16 Pescarolo Sport LMP1 COLLARD E. 352 28 Laps
6 7 Aston Martin Racing LMGT1 PICCINI A. 350 30 Laps

The Ingolstadt marque from Bavaria is following its excellent record at Le Mans with the R8 car. It is a pity they did not get the top two positions but hopefully they will return next year with three cars and take the podiums honours as they did with the R8.
