15 miles to cross a road..

This amazed me when it was on the TV yesterday. Because the traffic is so bad and there is no pedestrian crossing this person has no alternative but to catch a bus to the next village to visit the Post Office - her own office in her village but is on the opposite side of the road from her house. On the way back as the bus would drop her on the wrong side of the road for her house so she has to double back onto another bus to arrive outside her house. The highways agency say they want to build a crossing but there is a dispute on land ownership.
