Harry Patch who I think at 109 is the oldest surviving veteran from World War 1 has worked with the Poet Laureate and a poem has been written about his experiences. The poem was commissioned by the program Inside Out and tonights show at 7.30pm features the poem. A lot of us first saw Harry on TV in the Last Tommy series. Sad then to have to report that in Peterborough local Air force personel have been advised to not wear their uniforms on visits to the town after abuse was reported from locals. Given what we have asked our armed forces to do for us over the years one can't help feel pretty depressed at the treatment handed out to them in that town.
