MotoGP 2006 coming up...

Just over two weeks to go till the 2006 season opens at Jerez on March 26th (motorcycle racing coverage calendar from the Beeb). Should be good, though unlikely to beat last years amazing opening race - if you missed it, here's the TV footage of just the last lap of Jerez 2005, breathtaking stuff. Sete has switched to the Ducati Corsa team, and been posting good times in pre-season testing, hopefully he'll be out of the rut he was in last season (Jerez apparently psyched him out for the remainder of the year).

Also, I'm going to try cut back on motorbike related posts on this blog. The ratio of bike to technical stuff is terrible (writing entries on trivial bike racing stuff is easy). I keep a page with mildly interesting bike related stuff elsewhere though, which might be worth looking at - have to see about some kind of RSS format for updates to it.

Paul, Interesting DAYTONA events this year! Apparently, Sete G is related to Mr. Bulto of Spanish BULTACO fame. Note: Raced a 1972 PURSANG 125 then tested SUZUKI's 125 RM, what was I thinking with that underpowered + overweight BULTACO? Will try DUCATI's Monster 675 when available, needs a 'proper' CrMo chassis. Glad to see KR has HONDA power for 2007!
