Monday January 02, 2006 Thomas Parnell's Pitch Drop Experiment is a fascinating illustration of the unobservable attributes of everyday objects (admittedly pitch may no longer fit that description). It provides a thought provoking example of something that requires not the global form of co-operation that the Internet can bring, but instead a cross generational co-operation. It illustrates something that is not perceptible by individuals in a short space of time, but instead by investing in the future Parnell gives us a history that we can retrospectively interpret and learn from.
