Solar Flare
Sun to aquire MYSQL
Big news in the world of Sun and technology today! The rumors are indeed true. MySQL® will become part of the Sun Microsystems family in the near future. Here's a link to the story and Jonathan Schwartz's (SUN CEO) blog as well for more info regarding this exciting development.
MySQL® is one of the leading database management systems in use today, powering major websites such as Google™ and Yahoo!® and many other entities, both great and small. So what does this mean for the computing industry, individual developers, administrators and others? Well, for starters, who would prove greater to enhance the number one Open Source database platform than the number one contributer to the Open Source community? Feel free to contribute your thoughts on this here as well.
Cheers!
Greg.

this is a big news.
I hope according to Sun's opensource orientation my beloved MySQL will soon become a serious competitor to ORACLE.
