Today's announcement of the awarding of the 2012 Olympic Games to London is wonderful news to all of us involved in sport in the UK. The Olympic Games will bring so many opportunities to develop both sport and the wider community.
Volleyball is a minority sport in the UK, yet the FIVB (the sport's world governing body) has more member countries than any other sport. Volleyball truly is one of the world's major sports. The Olympic Games will give the UK the opportunity to see the best teams in the world. I can't wait (even though I will have to for seven years 
).
