Greg Chappell and Indian Team

It was a kind of parting Greg Chappell would have never dreamt about nor the Indian players or the BCCI. I believe Greg did the right thing in resigning the job.

When players of sorts like Sachin or Anil Kumble express their displeasure for the coach, it's not wise to hang on. One of the interesting fact is Sachin was so focussed on Greg Chappell's remark against the seniors rather than commenting on his future. I am not saying that he should retire (it's hard to get another Sachin BTW), but a player of caliber like Sachin should not have made such a comment at a wrong time.

Anyway, Greg will be remembered for some of the best moments he had with the team like the series win in West Indies after a span of 35 years, record number of consecutive chases, etc.

Finally what is more worrying is the catastrophic changes which will be triggered if a sub-continent team gets eliminated from a World Cup, it virtually changes everything from a player level to the administration level (as if a new Government is formed after the elections!), which should not be the case. It's high time the storm stops its devastation and things get settled in for India so that the new season can kick off in a positive spirit.
Comments:

Yes, it is interesting that Sachin focused on the comment made rather than his future plans. Also, I'm not sure about Chappell's media "leaks" -- this is not the first time something like this has happened. There was an email leak for Ganguly and now about senior players.

Well, it looks clearly that none of the team were honestly playing the game. Perhaps Sachin should retire. A great leadership material (Kaif) is being kept away for unknown reasons. Imagine, being an international player, he still remains single without a girl friend. Well, some sort of personal life issues too should be taken in count. When compared with other proposed captaincy materials like Yuvaraj, Kaif is much better. Bhajji should clearly be sent out. I saw how feared he was when he came for batting against minnows. Well, finally, attitude matters. Aussies feel that they alone should be the winners and that's the attitude that's making a lot of difference in the game. South Africa have recently been developing this attitude. Hope, they will continue it. Aussies have definitely redefined the game. Perhaps, others should compete them. Else, simply, they'l knocked out.

Thats a perfect and valid point. Tough decisions need to be taken in order to improve. We should take lessons from ACB, remember the way Waugh brothers and Bevan were dumped out, but still Aussies won the WC 2003. What matters is team and not who's playing in the team.

Indians have to change their mindset. Don't worship players for their wickets/runs/catches etc. Worship the attitude - of winning/of performance. Don't say I like Sachin. Start saying, I like Sachin's so and so century. Look into the game. Not players. Finally, Indians may end up totally liking Aussies! ;) Well, Prasanna, I was actually searching for some good Java blogs. Know Eric Lippert? He shares lot of knowledge through his blog at msdn. Could you tell me some great Java blogs? Thanks in advance.
