Since Halloween is tomorrow, I'll steal a line from the Monty Python movie, "Monty Python and The Holy Grail" to cover one of the new features recently added to Project Kenai.

Project Owners now have the ability to delete those pesty test projects, or projects that just never did make it off the ground.

If you're the project owner and there are no other project members (you can remove them if there are still some), you can go ahead and delete the project yourself.

Help keep Project Kenai active and vibrant by getting rid of those dead projects.

The Project Kenai team is working on other ways to manage the old and abandoned projects in the future, but this first step is a way that everyone can help out on their own.

So get to it, Bring Out Your Dead...... :-)

We've just been informed that the registration service that we rely on is going through maintenance on its service hardware starting on Friday, August 7th at 8:00PM and ending on Saturday, August 8th at 10PM Pacific time.  During this time, you will not be able to create new accounts on the Kenai.com site, nor will you be able to update your existing profile data or password.

The rest of the site should continue to function normally.  All Kenai specific services, such as SCM, Issue Tracking, etc. will not be effected.

As usual, if you experience anything, other then what is stated above, during this period, please send an email to kenai-admin<at>sun.com.

Sorry for the inconvenience.  We are working with this dependency to try and remove these continued interruptions.

Tonight we need to perform some maintenance on our group chat
(Jabber/XMPP) service, so we need to take the service offline for one
hour starting at 9PM PDT.

The Kenai.com site itself, as well as source code repositories, bug
tracking and all other services, are not affected and will stay
available.

Thanks for your patience during this maintenance window!

We will be pushing new bits out for the site tonight (6/23/09) starting at 9:00PM Pacific.  This update will include some updates to the services themselves so there will be a small period of time where the site will be unavailable. The complete update shouldn't take more then a couple of hours and the outages could be intermittent during that time period.

Thanks for your patience while we bring new features and fixes to the site.

We will have some maintenance being done in the datacenter that Project Kenai runs in on both April 3rd and 4th this week.  This may cause some intermittent down times.

Friday April 3rd -- 7:00PM - 8:00PM Pacific

Friday's event should not cause any downtime, but will effect people trying to create a new account during this time period.  For folks that are already members of the site, you shouldn't have a problem during this period.

Saturday April 4th -- 10:00PM - 2:00AM Pacific

This event cause the site to be completely down for periods of time. A maintenance page will be displayed when this outage is happening.

Sorry in advance for the inconvenience.

As always, please let us know if there is anything not working for you after these events are completed.

Thanks,

The Project Kenai Team
