The what, why, and how of Sun VDI Software #4
#4 - Does the Sun Virtual Desktop Connector support the latest VMware Infrastructure 3 products?
Yes! After our beta release of the Sun Virtual Desktop Connector, VMware revised VMware ESX Server and Virtual Center and we found some minor incompatibilities with the latest versions. So, as part of our ongoing improvements while we readied the code for general release, we went and ahead and fixed these issues. This means that you can run the Sun Virtual Desktop Connector against the last two major releases of the VI3 product stack (3.0.x/3.5.x for ESX and 2.0.x/2.5.x for VirtualCenter).

So when is this available for general release? I see no way to down load the connector at this point. The beta has been removed and there is nothing else to download. Patiently waiting the final release.

We can't comment on exact release dates for future products, but I can say that it's very, very soon!
By the way, if you're wondering why the public beta was removed, our plan was to remove the public beta right around the time we started doing final candidate builds internally. This is because at that point the FC is usually much higher quality than the public beta code and we figured that the time frame was short enough that it would be best for people to wait for the GM release than to get too involved with the older beta code.
That all being said, sit tight, you won't have much longer to wait.
