A while back I posted an interesting entry about how a team at MIT Media Labs was developing a technology that would allow us to use our computers to interact with the real world in an amazing way.

This month the genious behind the technology, Pranav Mistry, gave a lecture in India where he explains the rationale behind his focus on this type of technology, gives an historical perspective on the development, and besides showing a demo of some newly added features, he has publicly stated that he wants to open source the software and share it with the community, which could happen as early as December 2009.

Watch this video. I'm betting this could soon become part of our future standard interfaces with the digital world.
