A few days ago Sun finished overhauling another datacenter in the US, fulfilling the promise to leverage it's innovative technologies to enhance the performance and reduce the cost and environmental impact of running a highly consolidated IT infrastructure.

This project showcases much more than technology. Selecting the best products available that can reduce space usage, use less power, improve cooling efficiency, is really important, but it's just part of the equation. Good consolidation and virtualization strategies, careful datacenter planning and design, and above all, using service methodologies that capitalize on best practices is paramount to achieve best results. This is the fourth similar project completed inside Sun, showing that we do in fact fly our own planes and commit to build a comprehensive set of methodologies and design principles that can be used by our customers worldwide.

This is great news for any customer dealing with space/power/cooling constraints, because Sun is now offering to qualified customers a free datacenter assessment, where our expert consultants can show how much money can be saved, in detail. You can register here to qualify.
