parallel features of dmake and gmake Nik wrote up a simple summary of the differences between dmake and gmake when it comes to doing parallel builds.  If you're thinking about changing your Makefiles to support both, or switching from one to the other, this gives a quick summary of the differences.  His email was part of a larger discussion on the OpenSolaris tools forum related to a possible Google Summer of Code project.

Linux headers are gcc-specific Linux header files (actually glibc headers) don't get much testing with compilers other than gcc, especially in the C++ area.  When you try to use the Sun Studio compilers on Linux you can get some problems.  Here is one example from the forums. I filed a bug a while back which was fixed, but it will take time to become available in all your favorite distributions. Posted by Chris Quenelle ( Apr 24 2006, 03:51:30 PM PDT ) - Permalink - -
