As I was talking up Sun's Federated Access Manager yesterday, it's only fair to give its sibling product, Identity Manager, a fair plug too... especially as it has just scored 5/5 in an evaluation by SC Magazine. Among other things, they note that IM usefully complements the expected identity lifecycle functions (provisioning and workflow) with policy and compliance tools to help identify and deal with policy violations.
That, they suggest, is a valuable tool in today's 'risk and compliance'-driven large-enterprise market.
