Humphrey Lyttelton: 1921-2008

I was lucky enough to see Humph play live. What a talent, musically, comically... and what a loss.

He's made it to Mornington Crescent at last.

Comments:

Me too, once on his 70th birthday concert at (I think) the RFH; once in a regrettably poorly-attended gig in a huge tent on North Weald airfield, with Wally Fowkes, where they both signed his latest LP (Calligraphic Records, natch); and once in torrential rain (we were; he was under cover) at a festival thingy in Ely, where he'd been given a stupidly short slot by the organizers and wasn't afraid to hint (in his inimitable style) at his displeasure.
