Cachefs

I have been working on a
CacheFS issue recently as one of the customers
escalated the issue. I initially thought it's a simple Off-by-one
error which is a common programming mistake, but it turned out to be
simple arithmetic problem. As I picked up the cachefs issue after
long time, went back to refer documentation from docs.sun.com to
setup cachefs and i was able to do it in pretty quick time. A good
job done by the doc writers, appreciated.

OTOH, I was wondering in what all places does customers use Cachefs
and how they use it in their environments. If you use cachefs, I would
be happy to listen to your experience and see if there are any areas
for improvement. Either add comments to this post or drop me a
mail to my sun email-id (rajagopal dot andra at sun dot com).

Hi, We use it with our webservers, it caches static material from nfs so we dont get reads all the time from the 12 webservers.

Hi Anon,

Thanks for the information. Another good product
to use in webservers is Network Cache Accelarator
(NCA) which is available in Solaris from quite
some time. You can find more details about NCA
here.
