Nice comparative list of ten things the Chinese do better.

Its shocking how far along everyone other than the USA is in personal electronics- quite depressing really. I lost track of how many "only in Japan" gadgets I've drooled over- I guess there's always Lik-Sang assuming the device isn't dependant on a network or somesuch only available overseas.

At least we're making progress on #8- Parking Data. According to LawGeek, BART will seed 50 parking spots that are currently allocated for late mid-day parkers with sensors to inform rush-hour commuters of the real-time parking situation at the BART lot. Portable electronic signs will be placed on the local highway to indicate the number of available spots remaining.

Kendall Anderson's photos of urban decay. If you liked the modern ruins stuff, this is in the same vein.

Anyone know of locations anything like this in the Calfornia bay area? The closest I've seen are abandoned mine shafts from the Gold Rush and such.
