There are some misconceptions about the Webmin that is distributed with Solaris 10, and the first is that it should be enabled the same way it is started when installing the tarball. NO! Webmin should be enabled by running the simple webminsetup script found in /usr/sfw/bin (the manpage is available if /usr/sfw/man is in the manpath, or if it is specified after the -M option.

And there will be new modules in future releases, including support for RBAC and a Zones configuration module. Version 1.200 (or maybe even 1.210) will be available in the first Solaris update, and there are plans for making updates and useful modules available on BigAdmin (as well as a forum for those wishing to make their comments).

I'm definitely interested in what features will be added in the next version of webmin for Solaris 10. RBAC, Zones, ZFS, NFSv4, etc would be nice modules to see.I've setup it up, per the man page, and it's definitely interesting. I have not looked at Webmin for years, so to see in in Solaris is pretty kewl. One of the things I was wondering is if the default background image can be change to the new Solaris logo? This is definitely an important feature, since Solaris is seen as difficult to manage (especially from the Linux crowd, even though it's pretty easy). So having a utility builtin that could correct that preception would be nice:) Octave
