With this announcement we can see that Oracle is realizing what a powerful development environment Solaris 10 is. A world-class enterprise OS, coupled with the flexibility and security of Zones and the observability that you get with Dtrace? Simply unbeatable.

As someone who has been working with Solaris 10 and Oracle for the past year in a test environment, I can appreciate how indespensible things like Dtrace are when you start having to look under the covers.

This is great news. Having Oracle select Solaris 10 as the preferred 64-bit development and deployment environment is certainly a feather in Sun's cap.
