Reporting Bugs and Feature Requests for Sun Studio
If you think you found a bug (defect) or have a Request for Enhancement (RFE) with Sun Studio software, you can now report it directly to us. You can do the following:

1. Visit the Sun Bug Database

http://bugs.sun.com/services/bugreport/index.jsp

2. Create a Bug/RFE

** Check the box under "Submit a Bug" section (end of page)
** Click the "Start a new Report" button
** Select "Bug" or "Request for Enhancement"
** Select one of the components of Sun Studio Compilers and Tools
** Please be as complete as possible- test case, instructions, etc. to reproduce the problem

3. What happens next?

After submitted a report, you will receive an email with an Incident case ID. Sun support will refer to this Incident case ID in case we need more information from you .

If your report reveals a real bug or RFE, Sun Support will file the bug/RFE in the Change Request system on behalf of you. Sun Support will also send out an email with the official bugID (Note: this official bugID is different from the Incident case ID above) . You can check the status of this bugID with this link http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=<BugID>

Important Note: these instructions are only for community users without a Sun support contract. If you have a Sun support contract, please continue to use your official support channel for support services.
