• Sun Studio Express July 08 Released

We released Sun Studio Express July 2008 today!

This is a big update from Sun Studio 12 featuring the first implementations of the new features in OpenMP 3.0 in the C/C++/Fortran compilers. Also, the Performance Analyzer works with MPI (ClusterTools) applications.

Also, this is our first release to utilize the Sun Wiki pages as a way to distribute up to the minute information about the release, and allow for feedback thru comments from users.

This release (it's still a "beta" release with support limited to the user forums) is worth looking into. The download page is on the »Sun Studio SDN portal.

The »Express Readme page summarizes the new and changed features, and the hardware and platform requirements.

Details about the release for all the components (compilers, debugger, IDE, analyzer, etc..) is on the »Wiki pages

The new features of the OpenMP 3.0 specifications now implemented in the Sun Studio compilers are detailed on the »OpenMP 3.0 wiki page.

See the »MPI Analyzer wiki page for more information, including tutorials, about the new features in the Sun Studio Performance Analyzer for MPI programs.
