Ramblings from Richard's Ranch

Busy weekend

Tuesday Jun 22, 2004

This weekend will be very busy. First, there is the annual Ramona Air Fair which always draws a big crowd. Everyone really appreciates the work the fire bombers based in Ramona do, especially since the Cedar fire was so close to home.

The Ramona Air Fair changed dates this year and it coincides with the annual ARRL Field Day where ham radio groups from all over North America test their ability to operate under field conditions as we would during a disaster. The Ramona Outback Amateur Radio Society (ROARS) will be working both events, providing communications for the Air Fair while operating field day stations at Fire Station 82 (Dye Road and Highway 67). If you are in the area, drop on by and say "hi." Better yet, pull up a chair and operate for a while.
