Getting Grid Engine Scheduler to schedule jobs despite high load

Using SDM Cloud Adapter to Manage Solaris Zones
Last week Sun Grid Engine version 6.2u3 has been released. The Service Domain Manager module of this release comes with the new Cloud Adapter. Out of the box it supports the startup/shutdown of EC2 hosts on demand.
However the Cloud Adapter can not only manag EC2 resources. This entry describes how to setup an Opensolaris 2006.11 box that allows the startup/shutdown of Solaris zones on demand with the help of SDM Cloud Adapter.
