Birthday Party Shots - 2006

Last Saturday saw a small gathering of Duncan's closest friends for fun and frolicking in the pool. It was a Pokemon theme, but thankfully the kids didn't seem to want to talk about that much. They had their own government thang going, with Duncan being President-for-a-day, police and PIA [sic] agents. It was all a little scary to me, but probably made sense if you were an eight year old.
When the temperatures in the Bay Area were over 100 degrees, the water in the pool got to about 89 degrees. Gorgeous. With the cooler temperatures we've been having in the last week or two, the water temp had got down to 76 degrees. As we wanted to keep the kids mostly in the pool during the party (except for when they were filling their faces with food), I heated it upto 84 degrees just before the party started. The air temp was close to the same on Saturday, and it has only dropped one degree by the end of the afternoon.
For cake connoisseurs, it's a Baskin and Robbins Pokemon ice cream cake, with rainbow ice-cream inside. Complete with a squirtable Blastoise on top.
