Grokking the Gimp

One of the things I enjoy about this blog you are now reading, is when I get comments (assuming they are polite and useful which has been the case for all of them except about 3 or 4). Last week I asked a question about our dog and got a great reply from Mike Gerdts. Mike include a link to a picture of his dog Mati with one of her favorite chew toys (at least that's what I hope it is).

Anyway, nosey old me looked at the URL and worked out that Mike has a home page. Looking around there, I found a link to an online copy of the book Grokking the Gimp by Carey Bunks. Thanks to Mike for the link and Carey for allowing his book to be made freely available.

Learning an image manipulation tool like The Gimp or Photoshop is quite high on my list of things to do. Up there with learning enough about CSS to do the "slight mods" to my main blog page that I still can't work out how to do.

This book should help me with the first of those two ambitions.

Assuming I can find some spare time. Someday...

A good place to start learning CSS is the great books by eric meyer, specially the first one: Mastering the language of web design which is a practical guide to using CSS on real world projects.
