I Want A Linux/Unix Utility To ... - Update 24th January 2007
|
Not much time to do much work on the list this week. The Menlo Park campus is ground-zero for all of the Sun Accessibility Program Office team for the next few days, so I have three days of meetings. |
I have made the following changes though:
- Remove the word "Freeware" from the document title as it was
confusing some people.
- Added in several more entries from the original Windows Freeware
list (initially as red balled unknown applications), plus a couple
from Joanie. (If you have others you'd like to see added please
let me know).
- Integrated in suggestions via comments to the 17th Jan 2007
blog post.
- Added in proper alt="..." tags for the various HTML image definitions.

One of the (many) things I like about Linux is the availability of <strike>freeware</strike> educational software.
J7: Learn the periodic table information:
J8: Learn typing:
J9: Learn world geography:
BTW, thanks for making those additions on my behalf! Although I'm getting pretty fast at the wipe-and-reinstall routine. So NOW I want a Linux/Unix utility to time how fast I can wipe and.... Never mind. ;-)

S. Chauveau: I believe there are already documents out there for basic GNOME desktop use. If so, I'll add some pointers to them in this document. I've also forwarded your comment about the comment error message to the blogs.sun.com engineering team.
sxj, A. Schreiber, Ronald S. Bultje, Joanie: I'll add in your suggestions to the next version of the list.
dmbkiwi : I'll add in the new category suggestion too.
