I Want A Linux/Unix Utility To ... - Update 1st February 2007

I only had a couple of hours to work on the list this week. Thanks to everybody who commented on the previous version.

I have made the following changes:

Move the key closer to the table. Put a hover popup over each key symbol. My short-term memory is shot these days. I'd also like an indication if the software is open source or not. I'm starting to really prefer stuff I can build and fix (and provide bug reports). Great stuff!

Hi Andrew.

All good ideas. I'll get right on it!

If I didn't have a RealJob(TM), it might not even take too long. I'll add it to the TODO list for the next version if I don't get a chance to implement it. Thanks.

I don't know when browsers stopped showing the alt value for images if you hovered over them but I miss it. I do understand about RealJob(TM), it's only a suggestion if you get another urge to modify the list.

Firefox has -- for as far back as I can remember -- taken the tooltip from the title value rather than the alt value.

Well Joanie is all over this one. She's sent me a new version of the list with all the title values in place. The key has also been moved to just above the table. I've bumped the version number of the document to 0.4.1 and uploaded the new version.

Thanks!

G16: regexxer
http://regexxer.sourceforge.net/
http://gnomefiles.org/app.php/regexxer

As the author of this little tool I'm of course biased, but people seem to like it and G16 only suggests shell scripting at the moment.
Keep up the great work!

I just noticed that you don't have anything for the small footprint web browser. Dillo[1] is designed to be just that. [1] http://www.dillo.org/
