For J-4 (solve a scientific calculation), try SpeedCrunch (www.speedcrunch.org). On Kubuntu, it's the default desktop calculator.

"15. manage icons:" - GIMP could save images as .ico files (I always create favicon.ico with it). Vector icons usually SVG, so they are created with Inkscape. Is Audacity really a Gnome application? It doesn't look like. I think, Rhythmbox is a Gnome application (not ?).

I recommend that you add the KDE ID3 tag editor Kid3 in section B.11 of your list. (see http://kid3.sourceforge.net)
