Oh boy! What a kerfuffle. Complete confusion between brand, products and all other Sun accouterments. You'd have thought that Jonathan has told us that we would have to replace our Sun logo tattoos with Java cup ones.

"Complete confusion between brand, products and all other Sun accouterments." That's precisely the problem with this move... apart from being a waste of money that would be better spent on securing jobs, it just further dilutes the Java brand by relating it to something it has no right to be related to. Java is no more a Sun flagship brand than Solaris, SPARC, or StarOffice-- the difference being that most Sun employees and customers have probably used at least two out of three of those products, unlike Java which is used by a much smaller percentage (and, I'd guess, a falling one, with the likes of the iPhone proving that you don't need Java in a phone to make it sell, and the ever-decreasing popularity of traditional set-top boxes).
