Mercurial Documentation
|
Now that I'm starting to work on OpenSolaris, I'll need to learn yet another source control management system. Just as I got used to CVS, the GNOME folks swapped to SVN. Just as I got used to that, I'll now have to start working with Mercurial. |
I found the following links very helpful:
- Mercurial README
- Mercurial Quick Start
- Mercurial tutorial
- Hg man pages
- Quick Reference cards and cheat sheets
- Mercurial FAQ
- Differences between Subversion and Mercurial

Thanks Rich, I just started using it with the Mozilla source too so this is useful. I hadn't realised OS used it too, I guess it's more popular that I had thought, guessing that GIT was where the action was .

Do you know anything about "gpyfm"? It is a new program that replaces "filemerge". I found out about it on the Open Solaris site. But i have never been able to find a package to download or buy. I thought is could be in Mercurial. Have you seen it?

I hadn't heard of it. I did google and find:
http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/gPyFm
It wasn't obvious from that web page, where to
get the source code though.
I'm on vacation this week, so I'm not near an
OpenSolaris machine, but if you are, try:
$ pkg search -r gpyfm
and see if it gives you the package name.
Alternatively, contact David Marker and/or
Richard Lowe, who should be able to help you.

How can I contact Richard Lowe? He has done some work on gpyfm.
Thanks.

This web page seems to have his email address:
http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/opensolaris-discuss/2006-May/016573.html
If that doesn't work, then i suggest sending an
email to one of the OpenASolaris mailing lists
where he has previously posted.
