Minor, the New Normal

Is it just me, or shouldn't the default Severity setting for new bugs being entered at defect.opensolaris.org, be normal not minor?

The choices are:

There's normal, sitting in the middle. Why isn't that the starting Severity? That's the way it works for GNOME and Mozilla.

Same for Priority. P3's in the middle, yet the default is P4.

Color me confused.

Ours is not to wonder why.... ;-)

It's not something that bothers me. You can change both the severity and the priority -- and do so without anyone complaining at you for doing so, assuming your change is reasonable -- unlike another issue tracker I use.

The main difference I've noticed between defect.opensolaris.org and the GNOME and Mozilla equivalents is the amount of discussion. On the latter two, there's actual conversation about the issue, patches to test, reviews being made, etc. The former is noticeably more quiet.
