Scribd

I started with the BoingBoing post describing where the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA - don't ask) has used the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to fraudulently remove numerous non-infringing works from Scribd. In particular, Cory Doctorow's own Creative Commons-licensed novel, "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom." Jeez. Talk about heavy-handed.

I'd never been to Scribd before, so I thought I'd check it out. It's another of those sites like the Internet Archive where I bet there are some absolutely wonderful files here, but how would you know? You'd need to come here looking for something specific.

The closest I can see is to monitor the RSS feed for Recent Documents or Today's popular documents (which I'm now doing, for the latter).

What I did find was this document, which is a nice collection of images, some of which will make you go ahhh and put a smile on your face. Thankfully Paris Hilton is nowhere to be seen. (Page 55 worries me. I hope it was Photoshopped).
