Stanford vs Washington State

Just like last year, Duncan and I went with Mark and his son to see a Stanford football game over the weekend.
This year it was over a month earlier. The weather was perfect. Also this year the game was in the new stadium (built inside the old stadium). It's a much more intimate affair now and the audience is much closer to the action. To cover the costs of building the new stadium, the ticket prices have been dramatically increased. For example, the "cheap" seats in the end zone area have been hiked from $8 to $30. Ouch. Even though there are sold-out games later in the season, this one wasn't. In fact there were many large empty areas.
Stanford played at their usual level of competence. They play in red and white. Washington State were in white and red. This obviously confused the Stanford quarterback on one play as he just passed the ball straight to a WSU player who ran it in to score a touchdown. The Washington Cougars went on to give Stanford a good "manhandling", even though they weren't brilliant by any means.
