Tag Statistics

Over the weekend, I added a load of Technorati tags to most of the posts in my blog. Yesterday, I generated some statistics from those tags.

I currently have 469 posts in this blog (not counting this one). I now have 626 occurances of 181 different tags. Some posts have more than one (never more than three) and some have no tags at all.

Here are the tags (just one occurance of each, unless there is a count in brackets after the tag). From this you not only get a feeling for what I've been writing about, but it'll also help me determine in the future, which Technorati RSS feeds I'm going to be interested in monitoring, and which http://del.icio.us/ bookmark tags I should setup.

Doing this exercise has shown me there is a lack of consistency between lowercase tag names and tags with an initial Uppercase letter in their name. Also between tags like "Film" and "Films". I wonder if Technorati does anything clever, to try to aggregate slight differences like this.
