Thanksgiving 2006

It's that time again. The holiday is here and no doubt I'll be putting on a couple extra pounds from the excess in food. It's a small family affair this year, and like last year, we've tried to make it as simple as possible.

We've got a pre-owned pre-cooked turkey with all the trimmings from our local food market. Just reheat the bird for a couple of hours and you're done. Well almost.

After the food binging, we've got a choice of either Cars or Ice Age 2, two more movies we never got to see in theaters. (In fact, I'm having a problem remembering the name of the last film we saw at the movies).

This year I'm thankful for being able to work from home. It's simplified my life. I also don't have that one hour commute to worry about each work day.

Lynea just had a glass saucepan lid explode on her. She was boiling some eggs. Luckily nobody was hurt, and the eggs should be okay (what with them all being in their own little shells).

And our neighbour is out in his garden doing something loud. At least it's not his wood chipper. Still, I hope he stops soon.

I guess the day isn't going to be as simple as I'd hoped.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
