Robert Holt's WeblogRobert Holt's Weblog so I played with the MSI wind today and the Kill-a-watt meter. At 100% load - disk spinning at full, processor maxed out it was pulling about 33 -> 36watts. At idle it was pulling 30 watts.
I think this is going to be my new mailserver. Post a Comment: Comments are closed for this entry. |

How do you think about the idea of running from a USB HD? Speed and performance are not a concern.
Thanks.

I can try this config - I have an external 200Gig usb disk that doesn't require an external power supply - I think my main concern here would be i/o speed and the usb2.0 interface.
I'm more interested to try running off 4 usb sticks with Solaris in a ZFS pool across the 4 sticks -
2 projects for the coming week or so - whoohoo !
