我的2007
2007 对我来说是一个有点困难的一年，相比于 2006 年生活的丰富多彩，这一年的日子变得有些乏味而平淡。日子机械地带着惯性流逝下去，回想起来，如果不是自己刻意地让自己去做一些事情，也许这一年就这么浑浑噩噩的家庭、公司两点一线来回摇摆下去。幸好自己还没有让自己这么堕落下去……
眼看就要到了 2008 年的春节，本命年即将来临，给自己列一个流水账式的不完全回顾吧，也好看看去年都做了些什么，收获沉淀的过往，丢却不必要的包袱，轻装前行。

- 新年子夜驾车回家，适逢高速大雾，胆战心惊，寸步难行
- Re-org, 从 Kevin Zhou's Group 到 Henry Deng's Group
- Huajian Luo 加入了 ZFS 测试小组

- 旧家的房屋几经腾空之后交由中介出租了

- 六月到十二月期间，开始继续写我中断了两年的小说

- 新版琼瑶剧《又见一帘幽梦》播出，顺带补习了老版刘德凯／陈德容版的风采
- 八月 Aug
- 八月到年底期间进行 NewBoot 的测试
- 从 2004.8 进入 SUN 公司三年以来举报 BUG 数量达到 400! (MileStone, 8.30)

- 出于 C-Team 和 PAC 的考虑，s10u5 没能包括 ZFS 的新特性（只有一部分Bug fix），我们一个月的努力只能推到 s10u6 中去了。

原来你是zfs的测试人员啊
我刚好有一些想法问你，目前zfs是否可以作为企业里边的主存储使用了？看了zfs很多东西，很想用上。但是我们的环境是IC设计，所以nfs很有必要。zfs在使用nfs的时候，由于zil的安全考虑，会每次commit就sync一次到磁盘，导致性能很差。所以对于有nvram的存储，只能noflush=1解决。

呵呵，你的名字我记得在几个照片中看到过。
多多在zfs上努力吧，这是我见过最好的一个文件系统。一些新特性让我很喜欢。我想在08年适当的时候使用zfs，如果有啥好的建议，希望能提醒我，谢谢。

我没记住那个bugid了
不过我确实看过很多zfs这方面的信息。
比如：看过zfs使用nvram或者SSD来存放intent log提升性能的blog。也看过基于nvram的存储在使用nfs的时候性能很差，需要set zfs_nocacheflush=1来避免sync到稳定存储介质，或者通过修改盘阵，ignore flush命令的文章。
希望有机会跟你了解一下目前zfs的具体情况，因为我真的很希望在自己的环境中引入zfs，因为一些特性很是吸引人，比如snapshot、compression等。
另外，能否发一份你以前讲过zfs的ppt给我？

Robin,很显然，sun是不建议disable zil的，因为那样会给文件系统带来影响。但是，很多人认为set zfs_nocacheflush=1是一个很不错的方式，大部分时候可以做到disable zil差不多的效果。
zfs还是有很多跟前面文件系统的差异，比如quota的方式。如果有1000个用户需要quota，使用zfs将会非常痛苦。

谢谢 GuangHui 的正确意见，的确 zil_disable 只是一个临时工具，不是真正的解决方案

As I know, Separate ZIL has been tested in OpenSolaris, I don't know if you ever tried
new build of opensolaris above 68, Pls see the release notes,

That will upgrade your pool version > 7. And could use a separate ZIL NVRAM device to improve the performance.
But, if you're waiting for official upgrade of s10. Unfortunately, we once supposed to deliver this feature in s10u5,
but it had been hold by PAC and C-Team. (See my blog's 十二月份中的发布推迟), so it will not backport this feature until s10u6, that will be a period of time.
