Robs' Blog: incoherencies from an american ex-pat in exotic beijing,
  or: how i learned to stop worrying and love bureaucracy

on sin-yaw's recommendation, i've created an email list and blog for staff and senior staff engineers who are assigned to or visiting eri. the current members are aaron, david, paul, peter, and me. hey, i just noticed that everyone else on the list has a biblical name.

the blog is called staves, which i saw more as a play on the magician's staff than on the five horizontal lines on which music is written. that said, there are five of us on the alias to start with. look for content in the next week or two.

i'm gonna talk to an illustrator friend of mine to see if he can put together a merlin-esque magician with an indochinese flair to him... of course, with his staff held high above his head.

note: he will not be involved in anyway with the slaying of dragons. dragons are benevolent in chinese mythology, often responsible for the bringing of rain. and, well, the dragon was also the symbol of the emperor. talking about slaying a dragon in earlier times would've most probably been a bad thing (tm).
