Arshan Poursohi and I just returned from a couple of weeks traveling in Europe talking about Sun SPOTs in education. The people there have been very patient waiting for Sun SPOTs to become available in the EU. We had great discussion in Holland, Sweden, Germany and England with educators ranging from those who already use Sun SPOTs in their curriculum, to those who were just curious about what Sun SPOTs were. It always energizes me to see how these little devices inspire people.

While there, we were able to announce the three programs we have going on right now for Sun SPOTs in education.

1) We are promoting the adoption of Sun SPOTs in curriculum. Anyone who is interested in creating educational modules or full courses in grade school through to graduate school, and is willing to publish their materials so that others may teach similar classes should review this RFP.

2) Sun SPOTs are also proving to be valuable tool in research. Those of you who are doing an advanced research project that would benefit from Sun SPOTs should take a look at this RFP.

3) If you are a student and have a super-fantastic idea involving Sun SPOTs and the skills to pull it off, tell us about it in this RFP.

Please note that we are not limiting this to just sensors, computer science or electrical engineering. We are just as interested in the use of Sun SPOTs in Physics, Biology and other domains.

We have a limited number of Sun SPOTs allocated to these programs, so if you are interested, I recommend getting a proposal together soon.
