Next Generation Web (definitely not 2.0)

I had posted a reference to the term "Web 2.0" a little while ago on my blog. But while I got absorbed in the term 2.0, there were others who were way ahead:

WOW !! the google search results for terms like "web 2.0","web 3.0","web 4.0","web 5.0","web 6.0","web 7.0","web 8.0","web 9.0" all yield several results. I guess it's all about an effort to get recognition by associating the terms with product releases just to say that the products are way ahead of the game... the silliest strategy I have ever seen.

I wonder what the end version would be : Web n.OH ! ?

Hi Rohan, nice blog, There's a web 2.0 workgroup which I believe is a group of around 20 folks who are web designers and publishers and self proclaimed "influential technology and media professionals". You should follow up on that often to see whats going on... Interestingly enough the website is run by folks at "We Break Stuff" and to add to: there's also a The Web 2.0 Show thats run by SteelPixel which seems to be a company that hosts blogs using Wordpress, Textpattern, Xoops, Drupal, Mambo and Postnuke for a "fee". So much for web 2.0. Like you said. I agree that it just maybe folks using the term web 2.0 with everything they do just to make the industry believe that they are way ahead in the game... what a rip off !!!
