Kim recently posted an article on LID-SPAM SPAM, OR MONTY PYTHON?. Well it kinda disturbed me. But Hey !! Things happen in blogdom. This new media of interaction has yet to be exploited to its fullest. Its exploitation chart is in its infancy right now. Anyways, I got curious on who's visiting my blog and checked my referer list (a service that my blog host kindly provides me with).
and I have something thats a kicker too check out the following screenshot from my referer list. Interesting aye ??

Whats interesting is that Kim's blog post referer link is SMACK right in the middle of it. Well, there were some more of there bad referers way down my list, but this block was interesting and caught my attention as my identity idol's blog post link was in-between a series of these miscreant links.

However the inference is not that this referer list is from some smart alec trying to obtain traffic. Thats what the motive of spamdexing is (at least according to this wikipedia definition). I do not publish referer links, and whoever did this gains absolutely nothing.

But what I'm trying to figure out is what this referer would have to do with absolutely any kind of return on investment ? (time or money). Could someone explain that to me please... or publish something out there that is a informative resource for referer spammers to "refer" to prior to running their bots... EG: gullible and non gullible resources available for spamdexing...

However Word Based Filtering could help eliminate that. Could someone @ rollerweblogger incorporate this into their next release.. It's something I believe would be a nice to have.
