The Sparks, Reno, Duckwater and Winchester OpenSolaris projects are working to tackle multiple
approachability, interoperability, security and performance issues that exist in Solaris naming services today. The Sparks project page: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/sparks/overview
is available to help explain the relationship between the projects.

The Sparks OpenSolaris project's architecture page is now online at:

It includes an overview of Sparks as it relates to the Reno, Winchester and Duckwater
projects as well as the current functional specification for the project, as it exists today.

Sparks as an OpenSolaris project will be up shortly. The project proposal just got approved. More discussion and information to be appearing in the OpenSolaris Projects area shortly.

We have made the decision to move sparks out to OpenSolaris.org and
participate more closely with the community at large.
