Linux @ Microsoft

I didn't think I would write again about Microsoft in such a short time, but I think that this is very interesting. Microsoft employs Linux specialists, they have a lab with around 50 Linux machines and they are testing lots of Linux distributions. Not only RedHat and SuSE, but also the corner ones. Actually some of the people over there are even trying Linux from scratch. Why are they doing it? To find out what's good on Linux and opensource in general - so that they can take advantage of this knowledge in their own processes.

In case you would like to know more, here is the interview and a walk through the Linux labs. The format is wmv so you can play these with Mplayer:

This makes me wonder what will be the next steps in Microsoft's Linux strategy.
More than 1000 Hits/Day

Yesterday at 11:41 p.m. CET I've crossed the magical 1000 hits/day limit. I wonder how much of these hits are hits from human beings and how much are from indexers such as Google :-)

Anyway, reaching so many readers makes me think about the future of my blog. It makes me feel a bit responsible - my colleagues at Sun were already several times angry at me, saying: "How come that you didn't write anything today yet!".

Ideally, I would like to use my blog as another means of conversation - about NetBeans and the other interests I share with my readers. Some of you who come here regularly probably already have a good idea of what topics I'm good at and what not.

Write me your comments what would you like me to write about. Is there a specific area at NetBeans you would like me to cover? Or would you prefer more funny articles - or gaming articles - or usability stuff? I don't guarantee I will take your suggestion into account, but I would like to know what topics are you interested in the most. Thanks!
