On the 18th of September, Maties OSUM club and various individual volunteers will be presenting Software Freedom Day (SFD) at the University of Stellenbosch. Our focus will be to present the benefits of Free Open Source Software (FOSS) to the students on campus that are unlikely to have come across FOSS before.
We'll be advertising through various mediums including setting the background and screensavers of the University computers, having videos on campus tv's and putting up posters. I have designed two posters which you can freely download and modify for your own use. (Click on the image to download the source - open with Inkscape to edit)
We'll have a projector showing just how easy it is to use various open source applications and their typical uses. Volunteers will also assist in installing various programmes and explaining what SFD is about. If you happen to be in Stellenbosch, come by the Neelsie between 12:30 and 15:00.
