Software Freedom Day-2008 @ National Institute of Technology Karnataka, India

September 20, 2008 is being observed as the International Software Freedom Day (SFD). SFD is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). The non-profit company Software Freedom International coordinates SFD at a global level, providing support, giveaways and a point of collaboratio but volunteer teams around the world organise the local SFD events to impact their own communities. In NITK the event is bieng conducted completely free of cost by the Web Enthusiasts Club and Linux Users Group sponsored by NAABO and NITK Sun OSUM sponsored by Sun Microsystems (as par of Sun CA Program). We are celebrating the Software Freedom Week between 21st Spetember to 25th September, 2008. Series of events have been planned which will kick off tomorrow.[Read More]
